little mans "hap bur.day"

Just wanted to share with you all that the little man of this house just turned the big TWO! As he now says "I two...hap bur.day"...

It is truly amazing how fast the days go by when you look at the life of your child.

young love.

Okay, maybe not all of the time.

But lets be honest...we all have our moments!

Si and his lovely friend Miss Nevaeh (Michele's daughter) have not had a chance to spend much time together lately...and it seemed that they really missed eachother. No spats, no screaming...only good ol' fashioned cookie decorating and some time spent out on the slide.

What a life!

They enjoyed the day and the time they were able to spend together...hopefully this is an indication of how we can expect future visits to go...maybe we could consider this an early engagement session...hehe...

the big day

Its official (well technically not until 11:35pm, but lets be serious). Our little man turned TWO today...
This photo was taken by Michele Dyson our lovely friend and mother to Simon's future wife. hehe. Thank you Michele! With my computer on the fritz and no editing software...I am happy to have something adorable to post of the birthday boy. I think someone needs a cupcake...oh, Simon too...

taking it easy...

Things will be a little slow on the photography front over the next month or so. Dont worry, plenty of photos will be taken (I cant seem to put the camera down) its just that many of them will be family! I am just over 4 weeks from my due date and not getting around as well as I would like...so I am taking it as a sign that my body needs REST! Now, you would need to see me in action to know what rest means...because really I dont think I understand the definition. Ha.

This is where the more "personal" side of things will come into my blogging! Hopefully you wont get sick of seeing my little Simon's face...or his siblings...and of course as soon as this baby is born you will be flooded with newborn photoshoots.

indigo six update

I would like to share with you some Indigo Six News!

A little something from Michele's "NEW" blog...

"My wonderful partner Brooke and I have decided to begin our own separate journeys. It's tough to work together when, although we have VERY similar tastes in everything....our lives of course aren't parallel. I'm going left when she's going right and vice versa. This way we'll have the best of both worlds, still being able to hire the other to second shoot, bounce ideas off of, and in my case....still use Brooke's amazing design skills (stay tuned for my new logo and business cards)!"

I would like to add...

Other then the fact that we will now run our businesses independently, dont expect to see any major changes. Please continue to support us each on our journey...as we move forward as friends although no longer business partners! I am excited to share with you the link to Michele's new blog...check it out!

super hero

Not everyone is lucky enough to have their very own at home super hero...

100 miles an hour
24 hours a day
7 days a week

Today "Super Simon" and I spent some time in the yard and were lucky enough to have the sun shining down on us. The shirt inspired me to work the vintage look, and I am loving it!

Enjoy!

sharing my love...

for the "storyboard". I have no idea what has taken me so long to jump on the storyboard band wagon, I am just glad that I did. It is such a great way to take a few photos from a session and capture a little something special. Moms & Dads...this is something I would strongly suggest ordering after your session...

Of course all writing can be customized!

it's never easy...

Adding onto Micheles previous post which shows a before and after...

I wanted to say that for those who think that we just walk out, take a few photos, download and voila...you are mistaken! Especially when it comes to little ones. A few "AMAZING" shots can be quite the task. Eye contact is often times non-existant and having a toddler still for more then a few seconds can be somewhat impossible. At this age, props can be a huge help as it distracts them from the camera and gives them a little something to do. You will notice, I was not able to get the prop back at any point in time...so do think through what you allow them to play with as it may end up in part or all of your photos!

So what do we do with these little ones? Shoot shoot shoot. Many of those shots will be tossed, however...you may catch one incredible moment that would otherwise be missed. Yes you will fill up your card in a hurry...but hey, we are digital! On this day I likely took about 150 photos...of those, I would say that under 10 are serious keepers. Outside of those 10, I have another 20 that I love because I am his mama. It was a tough day for light or I do believe I would have more to share.

I see an equipment upgrade in my future...
